MARS II
MODULAR ARTIFICIAL REEF STRUCTURE II
MARS II is a continuation of our Modular Artificial Reef Structure (MARS) product range. This product evolution improves on manufacturing processes, deployment and incorporates the feedback of researchers working with our original MARS system to enhance ecological efficacy in coral farming applications.
Our research and development in materials and manufacturing have enabled us to quickly produce large quantities of reef-building products. MARS II is complete with add-on options for habitat enhancement, ideal for transplanting coral.
This diver-deployable product aims to make the re-creation of bommie reef structures possible without the need for large marine infrastructure equipment like barges or cranes.

RE-BUILDING DYNAMITE-FISH REEF STRUCTURES
TRACC is working to trial MARS II on Pom Pom Island, Malaysia, by re-establishing the habitat complexity of reefs destroyed by dynamite fishing. The MARS II substrate offers
The gradient of sloping reef restoration efforts poses a significant challenge when building stable structures. However, the modularity of MARS affords divers the ability to build safely up the slopes.

FEATURES
Our unique surface texture design makes it easier for divers to clean and prepare surfaces for coral transplanting and natural recruits.
Sediment build-up is naturally mitigated by allowing currents to clear the surfaces.
APPLICATIONS
Coral farming
Reef habitat restoration
Wave breaks
Marine infrastructure habitat enhancement.
